Only Intermission: Fun Videos From 10 of our Favorite Shows

What are all our favorite shows and performers up to during this time of #OnlyIntermission? COVID-19 has not stopped our favorite artists from acting, singing, dancing and giving back to the arts community. Read on for a list of great new content from some of the acts that have visited The Hanover Theatre in the last 12 years.

2. Alton Brown

Forget delivery! We know a lot of you are doing more home cooking during the stay-at-home advisory. Alton Brown can help. The television personality has taken to YouTube for live sessions in his very own “Quarantine Quitchen.”

3. Cesar Milan

Recently adopt a new best friend? Cesar Millan has some great advice on how to exercise your dogs at home.

4. The Piano Guys

Looking for a free piano? The Piano Guys can help with that. The group is giving away a piano every week! Watch the video below to see how they surprised the first winner.

5. Jim Brickman

Speaking of pianos, pianist Jim Brickman has a unique way of disinfecting his pianos during this pandemic.

6. Neil Berg

Pianist and composer Neil Berg released exclusive tracks from the Original Concept Cast Recording of his musical, “The Man Who Would Be King.” You can find the full tracks on Soundcloud. Look for more songs every Tuesday.

Berg wrote, “A lot of us right now might be feeling stuck at home and without inspiration, so I wanted to find a way to continue to use music to connect with others. So, I’m revisiting one of my favorite musicals: ‘The Man Who Would Be King,’ a story of epic adventure, with an equally epic score.”

7. Blue Man Group

Blue Man Group has a new hashtag going with hilarious results. Check out #BMGatHOME for more.

8. David Blaine

Magician David Blaine recently visited the ICU through some digital magic! Read more about his special thank you appearance from the New York Post.

9. Boz Scraggs

Not everyone can work from home. Many celebrities are sharing tributes to the doctors, nurses and other essential workers who are helping to keep us healthy and well. Boz Scraggs made a touching video while on lock-down in San Francisco.

10. Amy Grant

Christian artist Amy Grant released a song dedicated to those on the “front lines.” “When every moment gets too hard, the end of the road can feel so far,” she sings. “I’ll be your shelter in the rain. Help you to find your smile again.”

Honorable Mentions

We don’t want to leave anyone out, so here are a few more artists and groups you can check out during your stay-at-home adventures.

John Legend: The singer collaborated with Kane Brown to make a music video, quarantine style. “#StayAtHome won’t stop us from making a music video,” he wrote on Instagram. “It just means we have to be our own cameramen.”

Raffi: Back in March, children’s author and singer Raffi released his own quarantine song inspired by Bob Dylan. Hear the song on his Twitter account.

Cirque Dreams: We’re all twirling through this together. Cast members of Cirque Dreams are making unique and special shout outs with fun ideas for family activities.

Wanda Sykes: The comedian has a new Netflix special coming out this May. Read more about the special and how Sykes is spending her time at home from the Hollywood Reporter.

Jillian Michaels: Stay fit with the fitness coach from televisions “Biggest Loser.” Michaels has her own fitness app that comes with free workout videos. Catch highlights on her Instagram account.

Ricky Duran: This list would not be complete without mentioning Worcester’s own hometown star and runner up on NBC’s “The Voice,” Ricky Duran. In addition to regularly going live on his own Facebook and Instagram accounts with “quaranstreams,” the singer is now bringing fellow competitors from the TV show on for live interviews every Wednesday night.
